The mentors of WeTradeHQ play a pivotal role in meeting both of these goals as well playing a very large role in building the platform that we have today. As the WeTradeHQ community has grown, so too have our mentors. We would like to take some time to introduce each mentor to everyone through this new series. We hope you enjoy learning more about these wonderful traders and mentors! Today we are talking with Universal Capital

Universal Capital

Specializing in Futures and Day Trading

Tell Us a Little Bit About Yourselves

My name is Alexander and I am the initiator behind UC Trading. I am from Germany and have a passion for the financial markets for almost two decades. As a result, I founded the project Universal Capital which runs four different funds – a crypto currency fund, a venture capital fund, a futures trading fund and a donation fund. The futures trading fund was recently expanded and today also contains the coaching project “UC Trading”. The donation fund has been created to help making the world a better place – a percentage of the total profits will be donated every year.

Next to my business projects I enjoy meeting friends or like to combine it with playing football or tennis. During the winter months I go snowboarding regularly. In the past years I also focused on self-development and am continuously learning by reading relevant books and exchange on the topics with interesting people.

How did you get started in trading and investing?

I came in touch with the financial markets for the first time when I was 17 years old and opened my first account when I became 18. That time I was testing CFDs but despite some profits I rather lost in the long run and decided to quit CFD trading. Later, I started investing in stocks with a mid- and long-term focus which went profitable but did not go back into day trading at that stage.

I never lost interest in the financial markets and started to work in private banking after successfully finishing my master studies. In the course of that job I was in touch with the financial markets on a daily basis and the idea of day trading came back into my mind.

In the bank we had an active trading desk focusing on trading futures and I received profound insights into the trading business - how do the markets work, how do big players act and how to develop a competitive advantage from that knowledge. Additionally, I received an intense mentorship in order flow strategies and, subsequently, decided to go fully into futures day trading.

Tell us where you see the most success in trading and how someone can follow in your footsteps.

Trading has the potential of giving financial freedom and the liberty to do whatever you want to do. Most people want to become rich quickly and even though money is the trading resource, money should not be the reason to begin trading – it is a side effect, not the actual reason. If you managed to eliminate that money thought or exchange it with a more valuable thought it will help you in the journey of becoming successful in trading since your focus is different.

Also, a lot of people believe trading can be learned in a few weeks, however, it is a job like any other job – it needs time, practice and sometimes you go one step back before going two steps forward. There is no profession where you will be an expert within a few weeks.

Moreover, the right mentor is essential for becoming a successful day trader. A mentor accompanies the student in his / her journey, helps to identify weaknesses and focus on strengths in order to find the right instruments, markets and, finally, develop an individual trading plan. Combine that with positivity, motivation and resilience and you will be rewarded.
